These Terms of Use apply to the About Flying website, support services, app-related information, and your use of the About Flying iOS app.

By using the website or app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or app.

Apple’s license terms

When obtained through the Apple App Store, the About Flying app is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement:

About Flying’s purpose

About Flying is an aviation utility and workflow-support app. It provides tools such as time calculations, time-zone calculations, Crew Rest planning, QR-based Crew Rest sharing, and Sunrise & Sunset estimates.

The app is not an operational authority, flight planning system, dispatch system, navigation system, weather service, NOTAM source, charting service, or substitute for airline procedures.

Aviation disclaimer

You are responsible for checking every result against current official sources, company manuals, standard operating procedures, dispatch instructions, applicable regulations, NOTAMs, charts, weather information, and your own professional judgment.

App results may depend on the accuracy of your inputs, device settings, time-zone information, route data, and other assumptions. Do not rely on About Flying as the sole basis for flight planning, dispatch, crew-rest decisions, navigation, compliance, or any safety-critical decision.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• entering accurate information;
• reviewing results before using them;
• maintaining appropriate backups of information you need;
• managing iOS permissions for camera access;
• deciding what information to export, share, import, or submit to support; and
• keeping confidential, personal, passenger, and company information out of support messages unless it is necessary.

You must use the app only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the website or app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, bypass security controls, submit malicious code, abuse the support form, send spam, harass support personnel, or use the service for unlawful activity.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Intellectual property

About Flying, including its software, branding, text, graphics, design, and other content, is owned by or licensed to the developer and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to Apple’s license terms, you may use the app and website for their intended purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app or website except where applicable law expressly permits it.

You retain ownership of information that you submit. By sending feedback, you allow About Flying to use that feedback to provide support, investigate problems, maintain the service, and improve the app. Do not submit confidential information or material that you do not have permission to share.

Third-party services

The app and website may rely on Apple, hosting providers, Cloudflare, anti-abuse services, email or support delivery providers, and other infrastructure providers. Those services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.

About Flying is not responsible for the availability, content, security, or practices of third-party services.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, content, or access to the website or app at any time. We do not guarantee that the website or app will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or version of iOS.

We may update these Terms when the app, website, support process, providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when material changes are made.

No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, app, calculations, and related content are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis. About Flying makes no guarantee that information will be complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular operational purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, About Flying and its developer are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or operational losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website, app, calculations, support content, or third-party services.

This includes losses arising from inaccurate inputs, unavailable services, device limitations, time-zone errors, reliance on outdated information, flight delays, operational decisions, regulatory decisions, or failure to verify results against official sources.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
